Consultant

Susan Merchant helps leaders, teams, and organizations have conversations that matter. Through thoughtful facilitation, she creates inclusive, psychologically safe environments where people can share ideas, build understanding, and make meaningful decisions together.

After decades in marketing, partnering with C-suite leaders and high-profile clients across tourism, oil and gas, and real estate, Susan discovered that the strongest teams are built on trust, curiosity, and authentic dialogue. That insight inspired her to become a professional facilitator, helping groups navigate complex conversations, uncover shared wisdom, and move forward with clarity and confidence.

Susan designs each engagement around the unique needs of her clients, supporting strategic planning, leadership development, team building, culture change, and participatory decision-making. Her approach combines thoughtful preparation, psychological safety, collaboration, practical outcomes, and the follow-through needed to turn ideas into action.

Susan holds undergraduate degrees in psychology and communication from the University of Colorado, complemented by advanced facilitation training and certifications in Advanced Facilitation and Consultation, the Technology of Participation (ToP), and Dr. Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead™ curriculum. She draws on a diverse range of facilitation approaches that continue to enrich her practice and strengthen her ability to support connection, collaboration, and growth.

Susan believes every person has wisdom worth sharing. Her purpose is to create the conditions where people can connect, collaborate, and flourish—through conversations that build trust, inspire action, and create lasting positive change.
